LIST OF NIGERIA UNIVERSITY AND THEIR CATCHMENT AREAS

One of the ways UTME candidates can improve chances of having admission is to go for universities that their states of origin are within the catchment areas of the universities.

Catchment areas apply to only Federal Universities. Each Federal University has its own catchment areas.

According to Federal Government admission policy, If your state of origin is recognized as part of the catchment area of the university you applied to study, you will stand a better chance of securing admission into that university than someone else whose state of origin is not recognized as part of the university's catchment area.

Take for instance, FUTO has Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi and Rivers states as it's catchment areas.

Let's assume two students apply for Chemical Engineering in FUTO, one of them is for Anambra and the other from Edo state.

Let's say the one from Anambra has a JAMB score of 230 and the the other one from Edo has a JAMB score of 245; the one from Anambra will first be considered for admission in FUTO despite the fact he scored lower than the other one from Edo State. The reason is that Anambra State is part of FUTO's catchment area.

This is the reason why candidate should apply for schools that has it's state of origin as catchment area to be considered safe admission.

UNN: Enugu Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross-River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Imo, Rivers

UDUSOK: Sokoto Jigawa, Kwara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Kano, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Niger, Zamfara

OAU: Osun, Ekiti, Lagos, Oyo, Ondo

FUTYola: Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, Yobe

FUTO: Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Rivers, Enugu

FUTMinna: Niger, Benue, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Plateau, Sokoto, Zamfara

FUTA: Ondo, Ekiti, Lagos, Osun, Oyo

BUK: Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara

ATBU: Bauchi, Adamawa, Benue, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, Yobe

ABU: Kaduna, Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Gombe, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Katsina, Niger, Plateau, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Yobe, Zamfara, Taraba
