THAT QUESTION!
Did God have a beginning?
#GodSunday
You know, it's easy to think this way : "if every design must have a designer, then God too must have come from somewhere!"
Quick assurance: The answer to this question is very easy to understand (or not to understand).
But, quickly, let me entertain you with a few scientific facts. We'll come back to the origin of God in a bit. We'll be looking now at LIGHT,
the MILKY WAY, SPACE and TIME among other things.Get ready to have your mind blown.
Have you ever seen a motorist arrested for overspeeding? I have. The last one I saw, he was running at 140 Kilometers per hr. That was too much speed. Too much.
But how fast does LIGHT run? A whooping 300,000 Kilometers (not per hr) Per Second! Don't clap for light just yet. Let's dive right in to the Milky Way.
The MILKY WAY is what our galaxy is called. Okay, hold on. There are actually about 100 Billion galaxies in the universe. So, this Milky Way is just one of them. What makes up the Milky Way?
Some scientists estimate that there are at least 200 to 400 billion stars in the Milky Way galaxy alone. And when we say "stars", we're including the sun. The earth and other planets are in this galaxy too.
So, what's the point?
Even as light drives at that amazing speed, it will take LIGHT about 100,000 YEARS to drive from one end of the Milky Way Galaxy to the other end of it. Lol. That's not a story; it's true. So if just one galaxy is this big, what exactly is the size of the whole universe which has billions of galaxies?
I know - you can't comprehend.
Time.
Let's talk about time. When exactly did time start? That's not an insane question. Lol. Truthfully, no one can actually point to the beginning of time. Too, time has no end. So how long has time existed?
I know - you can't comprehend.
How about Space?
Astronomers (people who study outer space) say that space has no beginning and has no end. In fact, the more they try to find a "limit", the more they find space. For a fact, space is indeed infinite. What does that even amount to?
I know - you can't comprehend.
It takes 212 degrees Fahrenheit of heat to boil water. Basic science right? Calm daaan naa. What's the heat of the sun at its core? 27,000,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Hahahaha. Tell me, how hot is that?
I know - you can't comprehend.
Oh oh, before we forget, WHERE DID GOD COME FROM?
Well, the Bible gave an answer. And the answer the Bible gave is similar to the kind my mum gave two-year-old me when I asked her who put my little brother in her tummy. I don't remember the exact answer, but mahnnn, that woman gave me one hell of an answer. Something I couldn't comprehend. Lol.
Psalms 90:2 : "Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."
Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on. What does that mean?
I know - you can't comprehend.
So, you don't know the beginning and the end of time, yet you agree that it exists. You don't also know the start or end of space, yet you agree that it is there. You can't fathom the heat of the sun, the size of the universe, yet you do not argue about their existence.
IS IT RIGHT THEN TO SAY THAT GOD DOESN'T EXIST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T COMPREHEND HIS START OR END?
I'll leave that answer to you.
However, you must remember that these are natural things, yet we find it hard to comprehend them. So trying to comprehend the start of the supernatural is a little too much for two-year-olds like us. Two-year-olds, yeah! Or do you want to compare your age with mother earth? Lol.
Science has yet to even answer some very tough questions about the human brain. The human brain that we can see and touch o ..😂..
Questions remain:
1. But, if an omnipotent God truly exists, why would he let bad things happen?
2. Can we really trust the Bible?
3. Is it possible that this earth was made in six 24-hr days?
4. Do I have to believe in God in order to be good?
The list is almost endless.
For this #GodSunday, let's take this home:
The moment you say that God doesn't exist just because you don't know his start, you should then stop using the clock (because you also don't know the start of time). And you should get ready to shut scientists up and tell them that there's no space.
The facts that science have put on our table are enough to tell us that this complicated universe couldn't have come about by chance (or by mistake). Science is unsure about how possible it is for nonliving things to explode into living things. But science also doesn't take "supernatural" for an answer.
There can be only one logical answer: a God - one whom we cannot comprehend his start or his end.
